IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 6 FIGURE CHICK CONSULTNG®
You already know how to carry the family, the job, the friend who calls when it falls apart. Being the one who handles all of it was never the problem. The problem is what it taught you: that being needed is how you stay loved, how you get chosen, how you stay successful. So you perform. You over-deliver. You do it alone.
For Us Daughters is where you stop performing for love, for approval, for the promotion, and build a life that's already yours without the audition.
You make “figuring it out” look easy, but you’re the only one who knows what it really cost.
First. The eldest. The only.
Not always the firstborn. But always the first call.
You gone make it happen, every time. Nothing gets past you, except prioritizing you.
You’re the go-to. The fixer. The therapist. The bank. The peacekeeper. To your friends, your family, your partner, hell, even at work. Most people couldn’t do what you do before lunchtime, in a month. But you shouldn’t have to either.
You already know you're doing too much. Permission was never the missing piece. What's missing is a way to actually put it down that doesn't blow up the second someone needs you. That's the work. That's what For Us Daughters is built to do.
not a flaw.
You’re successful. So why does it feel like you’re not fully in control of the life you’re building?
Simple answer: you're not running your life. You're running everyone else's.
Every time you pick up the slack at work, cover a bill that wasn't yours, or carry your family past your own limit, a little more control slips away. They get more of your life and you get what's left.
Dr. Cheryl Woods-Giscombé, who spent her career studying this in Black women, calls it the Superwoman Schema.
It shows up everywhere. You end up with the friends who need fixing and the relationships where you give more than you get, because fixing is the one role you've always known how to play. So you slip into it without noticing how much you've handed over.
Underneath all of it is exhaustion. It shortens your fuse with the people who deserve it least, including you. Then guilt kicks in, you overcorrect, and you perform your way right back into the same exhaustion.
None of this is a flaw in you.
It’s just what happens when you’ve been the one holding it down for as long as you can remember.
You already know you're doing too much. The gap is the four seconds between deciding to do something different or doing what's familiar. Closing that gap is how you take your life back, four seconds at a time. Not with more 'self-care.' With the actual reps.
Lived, not theorized
Firstborn daughter. Eldest. Raised by a First myself.
Growing up I was quick to say "yes ma'am" when my mom called from the other room. Quick to help with dinner, quick to watch my younger siblings, quick to be useful before anyone had to ask twice.
That same "I got it" energy took me into a career in big tech: Google, then TikTok. All the way to a 7-figure business of my own, features in Essence, on stage at Black Enterprise.
It also got me a few crash and burn moments. Late diagnosed AuDHD. High blood pressure, anxiety, and mild depression that all require medication to manage. Nobody warns you there's a bill. My body chose when mine was due. Yours will choose for you too.
That's why I do this work as an Emotional Labor Strategist. I build the strategy that gets you to actually stop. For Us Daughters™ is where I do that work, so you get to prioritize yourself before it costs you what it cost me.

WHAT CHANGES AT THE TABLE
EVERYTHING.
Hyper-independence stops being your default.
It's not a personality trait, it's a survival skill. You learned early that the fastest way to get something done right was to do it yourself. But doing everything alone has a ceiling. Here you're around people capable enough to trust, so letting go feels like relief instead of risk.
Reciprocity becomes the standard, not the exception.
Being taken care of is probably strange to you, so you fight it. You say you're fine. You deflect. You try to even the score, because that's the only version you've known. Here, help isn't a debt. You were always worth the effort.
Opportunities come straight to your door.
The best opportunities were never public. Here you gain proximity to people who know your work well enough to say your name in a room you're not in. A stack of business cards could never.
Saying yes becomes a choice, never a reflex.
Covering the bill. Loaning the money. Showing up for something you had no capacity for. Here you learn to pause first with a room full of people who don't require your sacrifice as collateral.
Prioritizing yourself stops feeling selfish.
You are allowed to want things. Loudly, specifically, without justifying it. Rest, money, the softer life, the bigger goal, all of it. Here, that's the baseline. Welcome to the table where we'll tell you to decide what you want, then ask for more.
Rest stops requiring a collapse
Nobody here is impressed by how much you can endure. The Firsts take care of each other and sometimes that looks like somebody telling you to sit your ass down...and means it with love.
